IV Program

Home Intravenous Therapy Program

Patients requiring home infusion care, can return to the comfort of their home and receive intravenous (IV) therapy. Skilled nursing staff who are trained and experienced in IV therapy can administer antibiotic medication, IV fluids for hydration and TPN or hyperalimentation. Patient and family education and participation is a strong focus of the program. In addition to managing the infusion, Stratford VNA nurses will maintain the IV site, and draw required blood work from the IV line as ordered by the physician eliminating the need to go to the lab for blood tests. PICC lines, mid lines, central lines and implanted IV sites i.e. port-a-caths can all be treated by VNA staff.
