Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body Fair Stratford Senior Services held a "Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body" health fair this past September at the Baldwin Center. The Stratford VNA was on hand providing blood pressure screenings to all participants.
Sikorsky Health Fair
Dr. Brian H Bennett, MD, MPH Medical Director at Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation said, "I would also like to extend my thanks and gratitude to all of you for a job well done. I have received a lot of feedback about the value and success of all four events." Stratford VNA offered blood pressure screenings and nearly 850 blood pressure readings were taken. Al Hay, Health Fair Team Lead and Coordinator said, "It is always a good thing to take a proactive approach to health at any age."
Daffodil Days Stratford VNA participates in the annual American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days campaign. Staff members purchase bunches of daffodils for friends and family, or for cancer patients, We are pleased to take part in this worthwhile cause.
Nursing Students The Stratford VNA hosts nursing students from Yale, Southern CT State, Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, St. Vincent's and Bridgeport Hospitals and Fairfield University. Welcome aboard!
Making Strides Here at the VNA we recognize the importance of breast cancer research. For the past several years the Stratford VNA has participated in the annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. We walk for our patients, our family members, our friends, as well as for each other.

The Sikorsky Aircraft partnered
with the Stratford Visiting Nurse Association to sponsor a Health Fair in
Sikorsky's Connecticut locations in October. More then 1,000 employees
attended the events in Bridgeport, Shelton and Stratford. The largest
event was held in Stratford where 30 vendors participated. Elder care and
aging was the focus of the event; however, there was something for everyone.
